Hire Our Heroes Announces “Denim and Diamonds” Fundraising Event

PRLog - Feb. 24 - WASHINGTON — As members of the United States Armed Services return home from duty, they face potentially steep challenges in readjusting to civilian life—not the least of which is obtaining a satisfying vocation. Hire Our Heroes, a nonprofit organization based in the Washington D.C. metro area, endeavors to provide these returning heroes with the resources they need for finding gainful employment. The organization is proud to announce an upcoming fundraising endeavor that it hopes will connect numerous veterans with interested employers—a barbecue event called Denim and Diamonds.“Our aim with Denim and Diamonds is twofold,” comments Dan Caporale, the founder of Hire Our Heroes. “One, we hope to provide some networking opportunities for veterans, active servicemen, and the many sponsors and supporters of our organization. So much of our mission involves ensuring that veterans are well-connected to career resources, and we hope this event facilitates those connections. Two, we hope to honor our veterans and our supporters by simply throwing them a good time.”

Denim and Diamonds is a barbecue event, complete with a full catered meal and live entertainment. Caporale says the event is intended to be “fun and casual, not stuffy.” Though there will be some brief presentations from those associated with Hire Our Heroes, the atmosphere of the evening is intended to be loose, low-key, and enjoyable.

“We are looking forward to having many veterans and active servicemen and women in attendance, as well as our Board of Directors and some local business owners,” comments Caporale. “We hope the networking opportunities will be numerous and productive.”
